Story
This November, I’ll be running the New York City Marathon with Team KCA in support of Keep a Child Alive.
This race is deeply personal to me. Less than a month ago, on May 8, 2026, I lost my mother after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Through every challenge she faced, she never gave up. She fought to stay with us for as long as she could and showed our family what strength, courage, and unconditional love truly look like.
While Keep a Child Alive is not a Parkinson’s charity, I will be running every mile in her honor. During the difficult days of caring for my mother, I learned how important access to care, support, and hope can be for individuals and families facing serious illness. That is one of the reasons I am proud to support Keep a Child Alive and the life-changing work they do around the world.
When the training gets hard and the miles feel long, I’ll think of my mom and the resilience she showed every day. Her strength will be with me through all 26.2 miles.
